In The News
If you keep up with the news of the stars, you would have heard that Kate Beckinsale has become the face of MRVL Skin Solutions. It is a company in Beverly Hills, CA that is launching its luxury skincare line this fall.
Now the reason this makes it into weird ways to look younger is that their secret ingredient is the venom from blue scorpions. This venom contains enzymes, peptides, and antioxidants that are all helpful for a youthful appearance.
The billion-dollar anti-aging industry is always searching for the next big thing that will reverse the signs of aging, and apparently, the stuff people will try to stay youthful is getting kinda weird.
Now I already knew a couple of ways that I thought were strange, but when I started looking for more, I had no idea some stuff people were willing to try.
I put together this list, and I’m not saying that I wouldn’t try any of them, but there are a few that make me wonder how they found out what it would do.
I hope you find it as interesting as I did!
Weird Ways to Look Youthful
1. Vicks Vapo Rub
Now there are a ton of different uses for this stuff, but for your skin, it will help tighten and moisturize. It will also help if you get an occasional pimple. I have read that it works very well on crow’s feet, but I wouldn’t get it too close to my eyes!
2. Preparation H
This one is more of an instant but temporary fix. Since it is for shrinking and tightening hemorrhoids, it will do the same for wrinkled and saggy skin.
3. Yeast
Vitamin B in yeast helps regulate skin cell metabolism. It also contains amino acids, proteins, and antioxidants that help produce more collagen. Make a mask out of it.
4. Vampire Facial
Kim Kardashian does this one and it has to be done by a professional. First, they draw your blood and isolate the platelet-rich plasma. They smear the plasma all over your face and then use a micro-needling pen in lines and rows so it will penetrate your skin. Doing this jumpstarts collagen synthesis and improves acne scars and hyperpigmentation.
5. Snail Slime
This was started in Korea and had made its way to America. It is an ingredient added to products and has been shown to extremely diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
6. Urine
Now, this can’t be just any time of the day urine, it has to be the first-morning pee. It’s only good, though, if it’s yellow. If used as a facial, it can heal discoloration and pigmentation problems. I might come close to considering the others on this list, but I don’t care if it is mine, I won’t be using urine for a facial!
I also thought I would spare you a picture of a urine facial, you’re welcome!
7. Bee Venom
I have found a bee venom cream, that also has Manuka honey, which does have a firming and tightening effect. The bee venom is said to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
8. Sheep’s Placenta
Yes, you read that right, sheep placenta helps prevent collagen and hyaluronic acid loss. This can be used in topical form and can also be taken as a supplement, which includes other benefits such as improvement of the immune system and metabolism and an increase in energy.
9. Gold Facial
This one is pretty popular among celebrities because it energizes the face, combats and reduces wrinkles, and also rejuvenates the skin. Even after a single session, your skin looks brought back to life.
10. Cryotherapy
This is one that I definitely want to try. There are several benefits to cryotherapy and not just the anti-aging benefits. Weekly treatments will decrease chronic pain, speed up metabolism, decrease inflammation, boosts your immune system, and can help with anxiety and depression.
Cryotherapy stimulates circulation and boosts oxygen to your cells. A cryo facial will stimulate collagen production and speeds up cellular regeneration.
A session of cryotherapy lasts about 2-3 minutes. The cost of a session can range from $20 to $80 depending on where you live or can find a center.
There you have it, the weird ways that we can keep our skin looking youthful and glowing.
We did find that a couple of the ways do have whole-body benefits, which was really unexpected.

This has been a really interesting post. There are a couple of trick I had already heard. But for the rest, they were completely new to me. I would also like to start putting them in practice. I think I would start with Vicks Vapo Rub since it’s the easiest one to try. There is only one here that I won’t try! You know which one it is, LOL!
Yes, I even debated about putting it in the list. With my research I picked the ones that were most often found, and this was one of them. I have a hard time believing that people do this, but apparently they do. When I went to nursing school they taught us that urine was sterile because of the acidity and even then I had a hard time believing this, but recently that has been disproven. I am really excited to try and find somewhere around where I live to find a place that offers cryotherapy! Thank you for your feedback.
Since each person is different and our skin does not react the same way as everyone else the best way is to try our different ways to see what is the best one for your particular skin type. Although to be honest I am a bit against experimenting like this and an expect should always be consulted beforehand. But I am not against using your methods. I would simply ask for a doctor’s advice for some of them before trying.
Absolutely. A couple of the treatments can only be done by a professional .Thanks for your feedback.
