There are lots of great face masks on the market from which you can choose, but if you want to take a more natural approach, I have found some great recipes. The best part is that you probably have the ingredients in your kitchen already!
I have included some that will moisturize or exfoliate, some that have skin-loving antioxidants, or even if you still have a few acne problems.
Go through the list and give one or all a try, and enjoy!
Turmeric and Yogurt Face Mask
You will mix 3 tbsp of unsweetened plain Greek yogurt with 1 tsp of turmeric powder. Apply a thin layer of the paste to your face and wait 15 min. Wash off and pat dry.
The yogurt is moisturizing and soothing and works with the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric to make your skin glow.
Use turmeric powder that is meant for topical use.
Oats, Aloe Vera, Honey Face Mask
Mix 2 tbsp of ground oats, 2 tbsp of aloe vera or aloe vera gel, and 2 tbsp of honey. Apply the paste and wait 15 min. Wash off and pat dry.
This mask contains lots of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, along with exfoliating and soothing.
Manuka Honey
Take a pea-sized amount and warm it between your fingers. Apply and leave for 15 minutes. Wash and pat dry.
This one ingredient will soothe irritation and brighten dark circles. It also helps get rid of acne!
Korean Antiaging Face Mask
You will need to wash 1 cup of rice. After you have drained the rice, put it with about a cup of water in a pot on the stove. Cook on low until the rice is soft. Take about 2 tbsp of the cooked rice and 50 ml of fresh milk and blend in a blender. Add 1 tsp of honey and vitamin E oil and mix well. Apply to face and leave for 30 min. Rinse and pat dry.
Kiwi Mask
You will peel and cut the fruit into small pieces. Grind in the blender and apply the paste and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
Kiwi contains vitamins C and E and lycopene. These boost the production of collagen and elastin.
Banana, Aloe Vera, and Tomato Mask
Peel the banana, cut the top and bottom stems from the tomato, and cut into pieces. You will also need 1 tsp of aloe vera gel. Blend all the ingredients in a blender. Apply the mixture to the face and leave for 30 min. You can store the leftovers in a jar. Rinse and pat dry.
With these masks, you can use them 2-3 times a week. Of course, apply them to a clean face and then follow your daily skin routine.
Sheet masks are my favorite if you would like to try them.
