If you are anything like me,  you wanted to start looking younger yesterday, right?  Well, even if you went and got a facelift, you wouldn’t be able to really tell the difference for a few days.  So I decided to do some research to see if there were some tricks or hacks to be able to appear younger while waiting on the methods I was testing to take effect.  Guess what?  I actually found some!  Read on and you may be pleasantly surprised at what I found.Skincare Lover box

1. Apply moisturizer before Foundation

This should actually be done every morning and night as the last step in your skincare routine. Collagen-based would be preferable, for its tightening and firming capabilities.   You could also use a hydrating primer.

2. Cover up dark spots with concealer

First, use a makeup primer then make an upside-down triangle and blend with a damp makeup sponge. The primer will keep your concealer from creasing.

3. Curl those lashes

Curling your lashes will open your eyes, making you look more youthful and awake.  Maybe even give the fake lashes a try; longer thick lashes will definitely give your eyes a more youthful appearance.eyelash curler

4. Block that SUN

Using an SPF is absolutely crucial for keeping youthful-looking skin.

5. Never pull or tug on your eyes

When taking your makeup off at night you may be tempted to hurry and just wipe your eyes with a washcloth or tissue.  Try using a cleansing oil to gently remove the makeup.  Tugging and pulling will increase sagging and in turn, make the skin look darker also.

6. Change your hairstyle

If your hair is really long, trim it to about your shoulders and get yourself some bangs.  Your hairstylist should know what type of bang to give you to go with the shape of your face.

7. Lighten your hair

Especially if your hair is thinning.  Dark hair that’s thinning shows well against a light scalp.  Dark hair can also cast shadows on your skin which makes wrinkles look more pronounced.  Going two or three shades lighter will help a bit!  You can also just put some highlights around your face.

8. Start taking a collagen peptide supplement

Find a collagen peptide supplement that has I, II, III, V, and X.  Not only will your skin, hair, and nails start looking better, but you will start feeling better in your bones and joints.

9. Increase your vitamin C

Vitamin C naturally boosts your collagen.  Strawberries and oranges are really good sources of vitamin C.

10. Eat Salmon

Eating salmon at least once a week will increase your omega-3 fatty acids.  These are good for keeping the inflammation in your body down.

11. Increase beta-carotene intake

Beta-carotene helps skin repair itself, stay smooth, and it delays the appearance of wrinkles.  Good sources include mangos, melons, and squashes.

12. Stay hydrated

Of course, you know the list wouldn’t be complete without water.  Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink water; at that point, you are already starting to dehydrate!

13. Decrease alcohol intake

Research has shown that drinking one glass of wine a day can help slow aging.  Drinking too much, on the other hand, will dehydrate you and cause skin damage.

14. Limit your sodium intake

Having too much sodium in your diet will suck out moisture and give you undereye bags by causing you to retain water.

15. Smile a bright smile

While a smile alone will make you look younger, having some pearly whites will make a huge difference!

16. Use a face mask 2-3 times a week

No one has the time or money to go to the spa every day for a facial.  You can, however, take 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a week to apply a mask you love and sit back and relax.

17. Get plenty of sleep

Being sleep-deprived can actually cause signs of premature aging.  Along with premature aging, it also decreases the skin’s ability to recover after being out in the sun.

So there you have seventeen different ways to incorporate into your routine to start looking younger ASAP!  None are difficult, expensive, or time-consuming so there is no excuse for you not to start looking and feeling younger as soon as today!
