With skincare ingredients, you always come across the usual. Retinol, vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and collagen peptides are the ones you mainly see for anti-aging.

Well, it’s time to make room on your shelf for another ingredient, which is kind of the peptide of all peptides.

Matrixl 3000! (Trademarked by Sederma)

But what is it and what does it do?

You’ll have to keep reading to find that out!

What is Matrixl 3000?molecule structure

Even though you don’t see it as much as other ingredients, it’s actually quite popular. More commonly used in premium brands, it can restore skin and promote repair.

3 Types of Matrixl

1. Original Matrixl which is palmitoyl pentapeptide-4

2. Matrixl 3000

3. Matrixl Synthe’6 which is palmitoyl tripeptide-38

Tip-Some products may use the peptide name instead of “Matrixl”.

Matrixl 3000 is a synthetic peptide based with matrikines. It is considered one of the most powerful synthetic peptides used in skincare. Matrikines are fragmented matrix peptides that can control cell function.

Two matrikines that are in Matrixl 3000 are palmitoyl tripeptide-1(GHK) and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 These two work together to restore and preserve the skin’s youth by sending messages to the skin to produce more collagen and elastin.

What are the benefits of Matrixl 3000?

As you may already know, collagen and elastin are the proteins in your skin that keep it youthful-looking. They give your skin the bounce and firmness to keep sagging, fine lines, and wrinkles at bay.

As you get older, the production of these proteins slows down. Not to mention the fact of the everyday attack they receive from the environment, lifestyle habits, or stress that causes them to break down as well.

GHK is a type 1 collagen fragment. Tetrapeptide-7 works at the molecular level and stimulates cell production, as well as boosting the renewal process. As stated before, these two work together to tell the skin it needs to produce more collagen and elastin.

With more collagen and elastin, there will be less sagging, wrinkles, and fine lines.

Tetrapeptide-7 also suppresses the body’s acute inflammatory response. Inflammation can cause the breakdown of collagen and elastin, as well as other skin issues.

Another way Matrixl 3000 is beneficial for your skin is by preventing and reversing glycation. What is glycation, you ask?

Let me explain.

It’s a naturally occurring chemical reaction where sugar molecules will bind to proteins and lipids in the body and this includes your skin. When this happens, they form advanced glycation end products, AGE. This damages the lipids and proteins involved and causes them to not function properly.

When this happens to collagen and elastin, they can no longer support skin structure. This will then lead to sagging, wrinkles, and fine lines.

Matrixl 3000 will also help the skin keep moisture and boost hyaluronic acid production.

You can use this on your neck and chest as well.

What’re the differences between Matrixl 3000 & Matrixl Synthe’6?

While they both contain special peptides that work to repair, restore, and prevent aging effects on the skin, there are some slight differences.

Matrixl Synthe’6 will benefit those with more advanced signs of aging, such as deeper wrinkles. This one is formulated specially to target 6 of the essential skin rebuilders: Collagen l, lll, lV, Fibronectin A, Hyaluronic Acid, & Laminin 5.

Working in those specific areas will rebuild and strengthen your skin.

Matrixl 3000 is formulated to prevent and maintain.

You can use both, but on alternative days. Not at the same time.

Both are safe for all skin types, but Matrixl 3000 is the best choice for sensitive skin.

What you can and can’t use with Matrixl

Although some formulations may have other ingredients already added, you should know what ingredients will complement the results.

Can pair with: Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Retinol or a Retinoid, and Copper peptides.

Don’t pair with: Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), or other acids such as Lactic acid, Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Mandelic acid, or Azelic acid.

If you are using vitamin C, AHAs, or BHAs, then use them on different days from Matrixl.

Best Matrixl Products

Now that you know what Matrixl is and what it does, you may wonder, where do I find this stuff?

Well, it’s easy to find, but not all are made equally and some may not give you the results you are looking for.

However, so you don’t have to surf the internet looking for the best brand, I have done the work for you.

Even though I am not affiliated with Depology, their Matrixl 3000 Collagen Boosting Serum has received some good reviews. The ingredients include the two peptides to repair and stimulate collagen, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and aloe barbadensis.

As an Amazon affiliate, I may earn a small commission on purchases made through links at no extra cost to you.

The next is DNA Code 100% Matrixl 3000 SolutionYou won’t apply this solution directly to your skin. Instead, you add it to either your anti-creams, moisturizers, or other serums to firm, lift, and reduce wrinkles by 45%.

The one I use is The Ordinary Matrixl 10%It has hyaluronic acid added as well. The reason I decided to try this one was because of all the great reviews it received. So far I am happy with it!

If you are looking to use Matrixl Synthe’6, then the following are the ones I found to be the best.

1. Timeless Matrixl Synthe’6 Serum – The cheapest price at Amazon.

2. Skin Perfection Matrixl Synthe 6 Serum Booster – You add this one to your other anti-aging products.

3. Skin Deva Matrixl Synthe 6 Serum – With hyaluronic acid added.

Matrixl Synthe’6 is fairly new, so there aren’t a lot of options out there.

Just remember, I wouldn’t recommend a product that I wouldn’t be willing to try for myself!
